Your top matches

Matches are ranked from the 11 doodle and designer breeds we've profiled so far. More breeds are added every week.

How the matching works

Every breed we cover is rated from 1 to 5 on energy, shedding, grooming needs, trainability, how well they do with children, how they cope alone and how well they suit apartment life. The quiz compares your answers with those ratings and size ranges, and ranks breeds by how few compromises you'd have to make.

Treat the result as a shortlist rather than a verdict. Individual dogs vary, especially in crossbreeds, so read the full guide for each match and meet the parents before you commit.

Frequently asked questions

Which doodle is best for first-time owners?
Smaller, people-focused doodles with easy-going temperaments, like Cavapoos and Maltipoos, are often recommended for first-time owners, and standard Goldendoodles suit active first-time families. The quiz weighs trainability more heavily when you say it's your first dog.
Which doodle sheds the least?
Multigenerational and F1b crosses, which carry more Poodle, tend to shed the least. No dog is fully hypoallergenic, though, so spend time with the breed if allergies are a concern.
Is a doodle OK if I work full time?
Most doodles are companion dogs that dislike long stretches alone. If you work full days away from home, plan for a dog walker, daycare or a hybrid schedule before getting one.
